Location

The bunk house is located one mile from Low Row. Take the turn off from the B6270 half way between Healaugh and Low Row. Cross over the river then turn right and you are 300yds up that side road

The post code that will take you right to the Barns is DL11 6NT. The bunk house is about 2 miles from Reeth and about 2.5 miles from Gunnerside. Google Map

Accommodation

Low Row East Bunk Barn sleeps 12 people in 2 large dormitories on the first floor; 6 bunk beds in each dormitory.

The bunk beds have a mattress,mattress cover and a pillow. Please bring your own sleeping bag and pillow case.

There is a separate w.c. and shower. There are also 2 wash basins separate from the other washing facilities.

Now with new central heating system and updated kitchen.

The hot water/cooking, showering facilities and heating are electric. They are run by a meter taking £1 coins.

The owner, Robert Clarkson lives opposite the bunk houses on the main road across the river at Park House and can be contacted on 01748 884601. Mobile numbers are also provided in the bunk house if the owner is not on site.

There is no mobile reception at the bunk houses.

Parking

There is hard surface parking for cars both in front and behind the barn. Please do not park on the grass area during wet weather conditions. There may be another party in the adjacent bunk barn.

Cooking/shops/eating out

There is an electric cooker (4 rings, full size oven and grill) and a microwave. There is a fridge. The kitchen is equipped with all crockery, cutlery and cooking utensils for 12 people.

The nearest shops are in Reeth including a corner grocery store, post office and various gift shops. Reeth has lots of pubs and tea shops and there is a fish and chip van on a Friday evening. There’s also The Punch Bowl Inn in Low Row serving good food.

Local provision for outdoor activities

There is a metal rack that bikes can be chained to. The nearest bike cleaning facilities are at the Dales Bike Centre (www.dalesbikecentre.co.uk) which is in Fremington, just outside Reeth. They also do bike hire (both mtb and hybrid) at very reasonable prices.
